Hailing
basically from a family of musicians, his father Dr. B.S. Krishna Rao a
classical music composer and Mother Smt. Vishalakshi an All India Radio artist,
recognized the budding talent in their son and started steering him in the
right direction. Parent's dream to teach music to him started coming true
when he started his formal training on Veena at very young age of
seven with his mother. He picked up the instrument effortlessly and
demonstrated his dedication to music. As a result of this, he presented his first
public concert
in All India Radio, Mysore at the age of ten.
The most important milestone was achieved when he switched over to
Mandolin when the ease and sound of Mandolin
attracted him. "Carrying Veena was my basic problem for public
concerts, I was too small to reach the last fret on the Veena".
With a huge dream of accomplishing success over the western instrument
which is unsuitable for Carnatic music, the mission impossible thus began.
Relentless practice, discoveries and learning ultimately paid off when he
got a break in one of the Sangeetha Sabha of Mysore. Thus the journey of
music started, soon followed by the certification of All India
Radio Music. "I always used to listen to lot of music in any
corner of the city, including Mandolin Shrinivas and paid lot of attention
to U Shrinivas's Music. I was almost aware of all the different strokes
and styles performed by him when I had not even met him personally".
Stunning the audience from his young age and performing the public concerts with
top grade artistes fetched him the respect and accolades very soon. He
performed in many of the reputed music platforms of India like Bangalore, Chennai, Bombay, Delhi, Goa, Andhra Pradesh to mention a few. The fame
spread quickly and made him tour to many parts of the world on invitation
to perform. USA, Japan, China, Singapore, Korea, Belgium, Paris, Holland, Germany
are worth mentioning.
Though the success in music kept him busy with workshops and practices at
home, his education did not take a back seat. He continued his education
with the same realm and interest, graduated in Bachelors of Engineering in
Mechanical from the National Institute of Engineering in Mysore
University. "I feel honored to be graduated from Natioanl
Institute f Engineering, Mysore University with Distinction, from where
people like Mr. Narayanamurthy have graduated".
Apart from being a gifted musician, he is also an IT professional and till today he has
worked in some of the Top IT companies like Satyam Computers,
Wipro Infotech, Infosys Technologies and Hughes, and he is the only individual
in today's music world who has maintained a remarkable balance of both IT and
the divine Classical music till today." I enjoyed the most working
in Infosys, but working Japanese and on toughest project situations have
left memorable mark was a great lesson to me."
